I just pushed the octave update < https://trac.macports.org/changeset/114034 >. I've checked building and loading under 10.8 and 10.9, so hopefully the transition will be reasonably smooth. There is no octave-next, but I will attach a patch to ticket < https://trac.macports.org/ticket/41155 > to allow folks to try it out.- MLD
