Wouldn't it be better to make sure a MacPorts installation always stays within /opt/local?

There are some ports that deliberately install files outside $MP_PREFIX, but to my knowledge those are only yubico-pam and libcxx on Snow Leopard (the latter is http://trac.macports.org/ticket/42385). There might be a few others, but their number is definitely very limited.
