Problem Building Port After Upgrading Macports from 2.8.0 to 2.8.1

Over a week ago, I submitted an Pull Request to upgrade the totp-cli port to version 1.2.5.

The upgraded port used to build just fine on Lion and Mtn Lion.

But after upgrading to Macprts 2.8.1 this morning, the port no longer builds on Lion and Mtn Lion.  (But the build bot still shows it building fine on Big Sur and Monterey).

Now, I see the following error:

Error: Failed to extract totp-cli: extract.rename: multiple directories exist in /opt/local/var/macports/build/_Users_grinch_Macports_ports_security_totp-cli/totp-cli/work:
etc etc etc

What has changed between Macports 2.8.0 and 2.8.1 to cause this new error?
