Recommended method to end maintainership for a port?

Thank you, I submitted https://github.com/macports/macports-ports/pull/28021 .

If anybody is interested in picking up the "notmuch" port, please note
that a new version (0.39) has been released two weeks ago and that this
update is not yet part of the Portfile. Low hanging fruit. ;-)
