 Your patch makes a lot of whitespace changes to the portfile that aren't
 relevant to the request in this ticket... could you attach a patch that
 makes only the changes needed to implement the dlz/mysql functionality?

 You're right that the hyphen is not allowed in variant names, but the
 underscore is, so you could use +dlz_mysql if you want.
