 I just tried again with a vanilla MacPorts 1.6.0 install and it worked.
 So maybe something has been changed in the related portfiles since I filed
 this problem ticket that makes it work now?  Or maybe there was something
 wrong with my MacPorts installation that made it break?  I don't know.
 Adding a dependency for `bin:latex:texlive` seems reasonable, but I can't
 confirm that it would solve the problem since I now can't reproduce the
 problem.  I would be OK with closing this ticket.
