 Thanks.  That fixed the problem, though I didn't need the '--' before the
 'clean'.

 I should note that I used macports to install trac, so python and the svn
 bindings got installed automatically as dependencies and I never had a
 chance to run python_select before the svn bindings were built.  Should
 something be added to the svn bindings port to check that some version of
 python was python_selected before it gets built?
