 The latest dbus at 1.2.12_4 seems to have solved all the previous problems.
 gnucash at 2.2.8_0 is now running fine. (It took several rebuilds and clean
 reinstalling of MacPorts to get to this point, though I'm not sure how
 much of it was due to earlier builds of dbus vs. leftover configuration
 issues).
