Comment:

 Well, [attachment:Portfile-ryandesign here's] a "fixed" port addressing
 the above. It doesn't work. It turns out the weird pre-build phase from
 the original port is what makes it work. For some inexplicable reason Tix
 is trying to use parts of Tcl and/or Tk that are in its build directory.
 tclConfig.sh and tkConfig.sh also include references to things in the Tcl
 and Tk build directories (from which Tix must be getting those paths)
 which also seems untenable; I do not understand the purpose of listing in
 files which are permanently installed the paths of locations which no
 longer exist.
