 It appears for me, after applying upstream-6802.diff to trunk (which is
 identical to the 1.8 release) Portfile. The build fails during install
 while trying to run cachersrc.py.  There is some google juice mentioning
 that this isn't needed potentially on 64-bit architectures? I did not
 follow the terse comments on this matter.
 Near as I can tell this is related to http://bugs.python.org/issue4165 (at
 least the same error pops up in their build failure).

 I am building on a MacBook2,1 with svn trunk ports (after trying 1.8).
