I am sorry, I missed the part about running activate again, and posted
more comments; however; I just did so and it appears that it worked this
time:

directory:. . .''' etc. for a whole page worth of similar
statements. I did not see any errors.
Do I continue with the scite install now?

Applet.app/Contents/Info.plist already exists and does not belong to a
registered port. Unable to activate port python26.

then you should be able to just {{{rm -rf "/Applications/MacPorts/Python
2.6"}}} then do the activate again.
