 Not at all -- I'll be happy to test a patch.

 The lipo command returns:

 BigMac:~ Darin$ lipo -info /opt/local/lib/libncurses.dylib
 Non-fat file: /opt/local/lib/libncurses.dylib is architecture: i386

 I'm a little surprised to not see any mention of 64-bitness in the result.
 (I tried the -detailed_info option with the same result.)

 Any ideas? (And thanks for all your help, by the way.)
