 Thank you for brining this to our attention.  We are taking a look at it
 now.  This machine also hosts the Firefox mirror and we are seeing a lot
 of
 traffic to that.  Which may be the cause of the slowness you experienced.

 Trying to download directly via my browser saw speeds of 2mb/sec
 initially, but it's slowly sinking back to the single-digit kb/sec range.

 I also let MacPorts chug away for an hour or so in the background and
 MySQL did eventually install, but not sure how long it took exactly.
