 Also, the failure I had was not a problem with my xcode install but with
 the java update 3.  The software updater for Mac automatically installed
 the java 3 JRE update (standard update) instead of the Java 3 SDK update
 (Developer Update).  Once I installed the SDK Java through the Apple
 developer site, which is free to sign up, Everything compiled correctly.
