 Thanks! I'm comparing your config.log to mine. I'm still looking but right
 off the bat it appears that you have files installed in /usr/local/lib.
 That can cause problems. Ironically it may be helping you build
 successfully where I cannot. Can i ask you to temporarily move your entire
 /usr/local/ directory to /usr/local.moved/ (or whatever) then uninstall
 root and reinstall and see if it works for you?
