 I believe that the compiler needs to be set using the CC environment
 variables, like the [http://trac.macports.org/browser/trunk/dports/python
 /py-numpy/Portfile#L119 py-numpy] port does. I am planning on updating my
 home machine to Lion this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to address
 this issue.
