 I just tried:

 sed -i -e 's# -lltdl$# #'  src/Makefile

 sed -i -e '/^LIBS =/s# = # = -lltdl #' src/Makefile

 make
 sudo port selfupdate
 sudo port -v install redland
 }}}

 make showed some errors after running, but I ignored them ;)
