#31107: Lion: cant find port right after installing it

 /var/root$ sudo port install gcc46
 --->  Computing dependencies for gcc46
 --->  Cleaning gcc46
 /var/root$ gcc46
 bash: gcc46: command not found
 /var/root$ mp-gcc46
 bash: mp-gcc46: command not found

 I have also searched the whole drive and cant find the freaking executable
 anywhere! this is the most obscure installation system I have worked with!
