 The ports mentioned have not been updated yet; it has only been discussed,
 but there was no commit updating them yet.

 The new port will not depend on perl5.8. Please, do not hijack this bug
 for something unrelated but use one of the existing tickets for this
 problem (which has, btw, been fixed 6 days ago in r96453).
