 You shouldn't be getting an error when cleaning a port; cleaning a port is
 just supposed to remove its work directory, regardless what's in it. Try
 manually deleting the directory
 /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_devel_pkgconfig,
 then cleaning and trying again.
