 Actually I think my patch is wrong. Yorick behaves OK when CC, CFLAGS and
 LDFLAGS are set in the environment, and configure.cflags contains less
 than CFLAGS by default (-arch ... and -pipe are missing).

 The only missing bit in CPPFLAGS, which should perhaps be appended to
 CFLAGS.
