 I think you raise some valid points, but in fact this isn't the right
 place to raise them. This ticket requested that the port be updated, and
 that was accomplished four months ago so this ticket is closed. You should
 file new tickets (e.g. "cfitsio: should set library version number" and
 "cfitsio: should install dylib as root not as macports user"). Then we can
 figure out how best to handle each issue.
