 OK.  I figured out a work around.  I had ffmpeg-devel installed.  When I
 forced removed ffmpeg-devel and then installed ffmpeg (regular version),
 the port install transcode worked properly.  So wouldn't that mean that
 there is a conflict between ffmpeg-devel and transcode?

 I'd appreciate knowing how to get ffmpeg-devel to run with the present
 version of transcode.
