 If not, please reinstall perl using clang

 sudo port -f uninstall perl5.12
 sudo port clean --dist  perl5.12
 sudo port -s install perl5.12

 and try again.

 Even if /usr/bin/gcc-4.2 exists on  your system you should consider
 recompiling perl with /usr/bin/clang. Mixing compilers is likely to cause
 problems with other perl modules as well.
