Comment:

 The checksums are fine for me. On my machine the distfile was downloaded
 from ftp://ftp.trilon.com/pub/xv/. Where did it download from for you?
 (The log doesn't say.) If the same one, maybe it was just a temporary
 network error? Have you cleaned and tried again? ("sudo port clean --all
 xv")
