 #35210 was resolved 5 months ago, back when boost 1.51.0 was current; the
 boost port was updated to 1.52.0 in r99457 and to 1.53 in r103719 (just
 two days ago), and it's not uncommon for new boost versions to cause
 problems in programs using it.
