 I get the attached errors when trying to install latex2html on Mavericks
 (OS X 10.9) ; the same error occurs if any package I attempt to install
 has a dependance on xorg-onputproto (which any of the "*latex*" (dblatex,
 latex2html, ...) packages seems to have).

 The attachments show all, but the basic error stream is as follows:

 --->  Building xorg-inputproto
 Error: org.macports.build for port xorg-inputproto returned: command
 execution failed
 Error: Failed to install xorg-inputproto
 Please see the log file for port xorg-inputproto for details:
 /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports
