 The NSRunningApplication class was added to the AppKit framework in OS X
 10.6

 which explains why wxWidget-3.0 3.0.0_4 will not compile on a machine
 running OS X 10.5. Time to look at the code and see what it actually does.
 Maybe there is a reasonable workaround.
