 My version (same OS / xcode) is working; I will try to look at the list of
 installed dependencies to see if there is anything suspicious (and to see
 if I can recreate the crash) when I have a chance.

 In the interim, could you try installing py27-matplotlib +qt4 (and
 potentially -tkinter) to see if that fixes things?
