 On my 10.4, libsndfile 1.0.25's configure script finds /usr/bin/sed
 and cinfigures and builds fine using that.

 Steve, can you please try to configure and build both the 1.0.25 release
 and the current git version both with and without having GNU sed linked
 to your PATH?
