 I saw the same, which is why I thought my first patch was OK. I was though
 in th end able to reproduce what was happening on the buildbots by first
 completely uninstalling and cleaning root. So I suspect it was some
 residual knowledge of what I had installed that was confusing me. Anyway,
 the new patch seems better, so I'm not going to worry too deeply about it
 ....
