 Hi folks,

 Cognisant of the fact that the maintainers have some time pressures; but
 thought it best to close the loop on the patches: the octave-diff.patch
 doesn't work; massive build errors that are not caught by the port
 dependencies.

 The suggestion by bpabbott at mac.com must be referring to 3.8.2-RC1? I don't
 see a 3.8.2 release yet?  Nonetheless, many dependencies required for the
 3.8.2-rc1, 3.8.1, 3.8.1-rc(1 to 4) snapshots to build, including fortran77
 and others?  Can anyone confirm this?  I'm yet to succeed in building any
 of these snapshots.  Suggestions?
