 No, I am not suggesting that. I am just speculating why it is broken and
 why it works for me (on Mavericks). You can't mix and match c++ standard
 libraries easily (Boost would still be linked against libstdc++, for
 instance). But I am not 100% convinced this is the problem. Is everything
 else "standard" on your MacPorts install (no default variants, no override
 of default compiler, etc.)?
