 Going with gnuplot +x11-aquaterm instead, which does work.  Recently
 discovered this mess to do with the *-headers packages messing things up,
 so after nuking octave and octave-devel and fltk, I'm doing a fresh
 install of just octave +atlas+docs+x11.  If it fails I'll try +gui
 instead.
