 Fix committed in r138298.  This removes the offending patch which is no
 longer required and fixes a minor configuration issue that prevented the
 API docs from being installed when using the +docs variant.

 I don't have a test machine for leopard so please confirm whether this
 fixes your issue so I can close the ticket.  Thanks for the report.
