Comment:

 This ticket has been opened "forever". I looked at it now (when searching
 for other problems related to this port), but the executable permissions
 no longer seem to be present. I guess the problem was fixed at some point,
 either automatically after port upgrade or after some changes in Portfile.

 So I'm closing the ticket.
