 This is a conflict with most recent glib 2.48, see this MyPaint issue at

 Latest mypaint git master includes the fix as discussed in the mypaint
 issue and launches ok; the fix was also backported to the stable 1.2
 branch (a new stable release is still pending though AFAIK).
