 Heh, yeah, I often do that because /opt/local is as good a replacement
 pattern as @@PREFIX@@ or whatever, and at least I know I won't forget to
 hand-edit a patch if ever I regenerate it from a `git diff` or something
 of the sort. :)

 And you're right, the reason I didn't give the python issue more attention
 is that the scripts are only used during the build. I'd have pointed that
 out if weren't really occupied with a number of other things right now.

 As to the wrapper: a symlink could do but as you noticed it means "no icon
 in the Dock etc.". Writing a wrapper script isn't hard, I just pushed the
 file to my repo.
