So should I simply patch the "python thing" (most likely just the two
scripts) and commit the port to the MacPorts repository?
It seems to me that the repo contains more patches than you actually use,
so I would just include those that are needed. Does that sound OK?
As far as the script goes: what's the advantage of "`exec`" with respect
to something like "`open -n /Applications/MacPorts/Audacity.app --args
$@`" ? In the second case the app is "non blocking" (but it also doesn't
print anything to the terminal, so `--help` and `-v` won't return anything
useful).
