Comment:

 In recent testing, I was able to confirm this problem on 10.8 when enchant
 is built with +applespell whether or not +aspell is asserted.  10.9+
 appear uneffected by this issue although, as explained above, inkscape
 spell checking requires enchant +aspell to work.
