 I moved the old `/opt/local` out of the way, and macports 2.4.99 installed
 into `/opt/local` without trouble. It's a withering two weeks to rebuild
 everything from source on PPC Tiger, so I'm going to see if there is some
 way around that -- perhaps I can use my prebuilt binaries from the last
 installation -- but it looks like macports installs and works on Tiger
 now. Great job. Thanks.
