 You can install it with the option `--no-modify-config` and work your way
 from there. As for the purpose, the subject states it: a community bash
 framework. Re the updater, I haven't used it. Re versioning, there seems
 to be none. And I couldn't find others distributions for it. That said, it
 has a large and interesting code base.
