 Here is an example of the problem occurring:

 This was triggered by [d7ffec330a3d4d0d2ed13d7cc8260fa63d02ec46/macports-
 ports] which made asymptote distributable, but `mpbb list-subports` said
 "Excluding 'asymptote' because it has already been built."
