Comment (by dershow):

 The fact that wine-devel builds fine on my machine, and on mf2k's machine,
 but won't run...And then mf2k uninstalled all his ports, and then rebuilt
 from scratch, to get it to work, suggests that something odd is going on
 with one of the required dependencies.  Additionally, my machine has a
 fresh set of ports and macports that were all installed last week.
 If it is not an issue of universal, then do you have any other suggestions
 of what it could be, and how we can track it down?
