Comment (by dershow):

 I see that the wine-devel port has upgraded to 2.0rc-6.  I upgraded,
 hoping that it would help with this problem.  But the same problem remains
 that is installs, but doesn't run.  This again suggest to me that there is
 an issue with a required dependency having some runtime issue.
