 Thanks. It can be fixed a bit more simply than that. I've submitted a PR
 for the simpler fix upstream:

 https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/glib/merge_requests/277

 Unfortunately this usage of `which` permeates gnome projects. I've sent a
 PR to pango too:

 https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/pango/merge_requests/16

 But I suspect dozens or hundreds of other gnome projects should get the
 same fix.
