 {{{libgcc}}} 8.1 built for me on macOS 10.13 with the following
 modification

 configure.args-replace \
                     --with-as=${prefix}/bin/as \
                     --with-as=/usr/bin/as
 }}}
 This would explain why the [https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-
 core/blob/master/Formula/gcc.rb homebrew] packages builds.\\
 Perhaps this information would help
 [https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=82092 move the upstream bug
 report] along.
