 Oh...I think the goal is t enable libc++ exactly on 10.4 and 10.5 running
 intel only, PPC being always excluded.
 On which others should it be enabled?

 The solution would in any case also solve
 [https://trac.macports.org/ticket/58578] but I see TRAC has no means of
 setting related bugs. Ayway we can close both bugs once we find and agree
 on a solution.
