 Well, it still isn't fixed ... we don't seem to be able to build a new
 poppler while ignoring the one in `/opt/local/lib`, `conflicts_build` was
 distasteful, and forcing it out with the `deactivate hack` wasn't elegant
 .... so we are pretty much full circle :>.

 I think it's frustrating to people that we can't figure out how to build
 poppler while ignoring the one in `/opt/local/lib`, and we all think we'll
 sort that out eventually.
