 You can close this ticket; I just successfully updated octave for this
 same installation, just by running {{{port upgrade octave}}} again. I have
 no idea what might have happened a few hours ago. I decided to try again
 when an update of this port on a separate machine and installation (same
 OS) proceeded routinely. I'm using an +OpenBLAS variant, and I think
 that's why I have to go through the build process in the first place.

 Of course, I thank you profusely for your efforts in maintaining this
 port, and apologize for busying you with this minor nonsense.
